About

Hello! My name is Tina Gillems, LCSW. I have been providing therapeutic services since 2014. I am currently licensed in Florida, New Jersey, and Washington DC.  I have over 17 years of experience with adults within the community, child welfare, individual and family therapy, case management and medical social work. I graduated Undergrad at Florida Southern College being a former collegiate athlete, and former semi-pro basketball player. I completed my Masters’ Degree at Barry University.  I have worked within the adult justice system, LGBTQ population and their families, and young adults who have aged out of foster care, along with others in the community. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, domestic violence, and many more. I will treat your experience as your own even if I have had clients with similar concerns. I like to use the following Evidence based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Solution Focused therapy, Person-Centered therapy, and Motivational interviewing.  Each case is individualized to fit your needs.

I look forward to working with all individuals including but not limited to the LGBTQ population and their families. Assisting not only the individual, but family members of the community navigate through acceptance and tolerance of their loved ones thus the family members can eventually be a support system and truly display that unconditional love. The LGBTQ community suffers from a great deal of discrimination which can lead to being physical and emotionally drained, needing a sense of relief, and feeling that you’re not alone. My hope is that you feel empowered to develop skills that will be beneficial to your everyday life. Let’s take these steps together as I will be here to support you. You deserve to be happy and loving the best version of your true authentic self.
